Position Overview
They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Structural Engineer to join their dynamic team in Columbus, Ohio. This role involves leading complex engineering projects, providing technical expertise, and mentoring junior engineers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural engineering, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for innovation.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead and manage engineering projects: Oversee the planning, design, and execution of structural engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Provide technical expertise: Offer guidance and support to engineering teams, ensuring the application of best practices and innovative solutions.
- Mentor and develop staff: Train and mentor junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment.
- Client interaction: Serve as the main point of contact for clients, addressing their needs and ensuring their satisfaction with project outcomes.
- Quality assurance: Ensure all projects meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Budget management: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring financial targets are met.
- Stay current: Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in structural engineering and incorporate new technologies and methodologies into projects.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field is required.
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a related specialization is preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is required.
- Structural Engineer (SE) licensure preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in structural engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex engineering projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
