Lead Transmission Line Engineer
We're seeking a seasoned Transmission Line Engineer to take on a leadership role within a dynamic and collaborative power delivery team. This is a hybrid position based in Wilmington, DE, offering a mix of in-office (3 days/week) and remote work flexibility. A relocation package is available for qualified candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design of high-voltage transmission lines (69kV to 765kV)
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members
Oversee and coordinate design activities to ensure compliance with industry standards and client specifications
Review engineering drawings, calculations, and PLS-CADD models prepared by others
Prepare clear and concise technical reports and studies
Ensure project work adheres to established internal processes and procedures
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program
10+ years of experience in transmission line design
Proficiency with PLS-CADD software
Strong understanding of transmission line design fundamentals including conceptual development, material selection, scope definition, and technical specifications
Experience with design standards such as NESC, IEEE, ASCE, ACI, IEC, and ANSI
Proven track record working directly with utility clients on transmission line projects
Preferred (Not Required):
Professional Engineer (PE) license
PMP certification
Construction experience
Familiarity with GIS platforms (e.g., ArcGIS)
