About the Role:
Our client, a well-established and highly regarded global engineering and construction firm, is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead significant water infrastructure projects in the Newport News or Virginia Beach area. This is a high-level leadership position where you will oversee multi-million-dollar projects, ensuring their successful execution from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Development: Take the lead on marketing efforts, strategy development, proposal preparation, client presentations, project budgeting, and contracting to secure new opportunities.
- Project Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, represent the company in community and client activities, and ensure the timely and efficient delivery of complex water infrastructure projects.
- Project Execution: Supervise engineering teams, set project performance goals, and ensure the effective execution of project plans. Collaborate with internal teams and client representatives to drive project success.
- Staff Management: Provide leadership and mentorship to the project team, offering guidance and support for performance improvement and career development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience in water/wastewater treament project management/design, with a proven track record in the Newport News or Virginia Beach market.
- Professional Engineering License.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline.
- Strong contract negotiation skills, with expertise in terms, risks, pricing, and payment terms.
- Solid understanding of budgets, financial metrics, and project performance management.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Ability to meet pre-employment requirements, including background checks, drug screening, and motor vehicle record checks, where applicable.
