Job Description:
As a Project Manager for utility and paving projects, you will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of projects on time, within budget, and according to the highest safety and quality standards. You will work closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies, to ensure successful project outcomes. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with strong project management skills and experience in utility and paving construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full lifecycle of utility and paving construction projects, including planning, design, procurement, execution, and closeout.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Coordinate and manage project teams, including engineers, subcontractors, and labor forces.
- Interface with clients, ensuring that project requirements are clearly understood and met throughout the duration of the project.
- Track and report on project performance, ensuring that key milestones are met on schedule and within budget.
- Lead the procurement process for materials, equipment, and services, ensuring cost-effective and timely sourcing.
- Review and approve project documentation, including change orders, RFIs (requests for information), and submittals.
- Ensure that projects comply with all local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental and safety guidelines.
- Identify, mitigate, and resolve project risks and issues proactively to avoid delays or cost overruns.
- Prepare and present regular project status reports to clients, senior management, and other stakeholders.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and teamwork on the job site, ensuring compliance with all safety standards and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5-7 years of experience managing utility and paving construction projects.
- In-depth knowledge of utility infrastructure (water, wastewater, stormwater) and paving (roads, parking lots, etc.) construction methods.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resources efficiently.
- Strong knowledge of construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, or similar).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong understanding of local regulations, safety standards, and environmental considerations.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to project sites in the Corpus Christi area.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with GIS mapping tools and other construction technology.
- Experience managing projects for municipal or government clients.
- Experience as a project manager on projects at least $10 million
