Key Responsibilities:
- Event Planning & Execution: Oversee all technical aspects of events, including AV, lighting, staging, and rigging, from pre-production to completion.
- Design Collaboration: Partner with creative teams to bring event concepts to life, ensuring technical feasibility and innovation.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor technical crews, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
- Technical Oversight: Create and review CAD drawings (Vectorworks or similar) for event setups, including truss structures, staging layouts, and CNC machining files.
- Vendor Management: Collaborate with vendors for equipment rental, setup, and technical support.
- Budgeting: Maintain project budgets, optimize resources, and ensure cost-effective solutions.
- Troubleshooting: Anticipate and resolve technical challenges during events, ensuring seamless execution.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in technical direction or event production.
- Proficiency in Vectorworks or other CAD software for detailed event schematics.
- Strong understanding of AV systems, lighting, and staging for large-scale events.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Experience with large venues, such as convention centers (e.g., McCormick Place).
