Join a national civil consulting firm seeking a skilled Bridge CAD Specialist to produce precise bridge and structure plan sheets using advanced computer-aided drafting (CAD) software. This role focuses on drafting accurate structural plans and details for efficient, cost-effective bridge and structure construction. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop bridge plan sheets and repair details for bridges and structures of intermediate to complex nature.
- Produce structural detail plans using AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroGDS, or MicroStation CONNECT.
- Collaborate with Design Engineers to determine drawing requirements and timeframes.
- Review shop plans and address construction-related inquiries.
- Prepare project documentation, geometric calculations, and material quantities for bridge projects.
- Assist in creating reports, manuals, and documentation for bridges and special structures.
- Conduct site visits for field measurements and repair project scoping.
- Update inspection file drawings and archive project CAD files.
- Detail preliminary and conceptual bridge plans using field data and engineer input.
- Train team members on MicroGDS and MicroStation CONNECT applications.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design, Drafting Technology, Civil Engineering, or a related field, OR five (5) years of experience developing engineering drawings using CAD software like MicroStation, AutoCAD, or MicroGDS.
- At least two (2) years of experience as a structural, roadway, or civil engineering detailer with production-level proficiency in CAD software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Proven ability to produce structural drawings independently using MicroStation or MicroGDS software based on Design Engineer input.
