We are recruiting on behalf of a leading environmental consultancy seeking a Team Lead - Zoologist to join their Perth office. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of skilled ecologists, driving high-quality zoological assessments and conservation initiatives across Western Australia.

About the Role

As the Team Lead - Zoologist, you will oversee fauna surveys, environmental impact assessments, and conservation planning. You will be responsible for mentoring junior team members, managing projects, and providing expert advice on wildlife management and biodiversity conservation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage fauna surveys, biodiversity assessments, and environmental impact studies
  • Provide technical expertise on terrestrial fauna, habitat assessments, and conservation strategies
  • Prepare high-quality reports and contribute to environmental approvals processes
  • Oversee project planning, budgets, and client engagements
  • Mentor and develop junior zoologists and field ecologists
  • Ensure compliance with relevant environmental regulations and guidelines

About You

  • Tertiary qualification in Zoology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
  • Extensive experience in fauna surveys, ecological assessments, and environmental approvals (WA experience preferred)
  • Strong leadership and project management skills
  • Expertise in identifying and assessing terrestrial fauna species and habitats
  • Knowledge of Western Australian environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in field-based and office environments
