Senior Environmental Biologist
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Biologist to join our team in California. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in biological assessments for permitting projects, vegetation mapping, and wildlife experience, particularly with special status species such as the California red-legged frog, California tiger salamander, burrowing owls, California gnatcatcher, least Bell's vireo, Southwestern willow flycatcher, San Joaquin kit fox, and blunt-nosed leopard lizard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct biological assessments for permitting projects.
- Perform vegetation mapping and wetland delineations.
- Conducting surveys and monitoring for special status species.
- Design and implement mitigation strategies.
- Conduct rare plant surveys.
- Manage project permitting processes.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in biological assessments and vegetation mapping.
- Proven expertise in handling wildlife, particularly with the mentioned species.
- Experience with wetland delineations and mitigation design/implementation.
- Familiarity with project permitting (particularly on solar/energy projects)
- Ability to conduct rare plant surveys.
- 10(a)(1)(A) permits for California Red-Legged Frog and California Tiger Salamander are highly desirable.
