Company Summary: This company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Waterfront Structural Engineer/Coastal Engineer to join our dynamic team in one of their Florida offices: Sarasota, Fort Myers, West Palm Beach. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the design and project management of coastal and waterfront structures, including seawalls, bulkheads, marinas, and beach nourishment projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Engineering: Develop detailed designs for seawalls, bulkheads, marinas, and beach nourishment projects, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Project Management: Lead and manage projects from conception through completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and coordinating with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Site Assessments: Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to determine the best engineering solutions for coastal and waterfront projects.
- Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and other team members.
- Permitting and Compliance: Prepare and submit permit applications, ensuring all projects meet environmental and regulatory requirements.
- Client Interaction: Maintain strong relationships with clients, providing regular updates and addressing any concerns or questions.
- Quality Control: Ensure all projects are completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Coastal Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Experience: 5-10 years of experience in coastal and waterfront engineering, with a proven track record in the design and project management of seawalls, bulkheads, marinas, and beach nourishment projects.
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Florida is preferred.
- Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in relevant engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of coastal processes, marine construction methods, and environmental regulations.
