Position: Structural Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Develop schematic designs, design development, and construction documents.
  • Provide construction administration services.
  • Work on a variety of projects, including residential and commercial structures.
  • Collaborate with clients and team members to deliver high-quality structural solutions.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
  • Perform structural analysis and calculations to support design decisions.
  • Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation for project milestones.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, codes, and regulations to ensure best practices are followed.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on technical aspects of projects.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering and/or Master's Degree in Structural Engineering.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience working with a structural design firm.
  • Licensing: A California Civil PE license is required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Windows OS, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Suite. Experience with engineering analysis software (RISA and/or ETABs), Enercalc, AutoCAD, and/or Revit.
  • Design Expertise: Experience with timber, reinforced concrete, masonry, and steel design.
  • Project Phases: Understanding of all design phases (SD, DD, PD, CD, CA).
  • Professional Development: Desire to continually learn and develop in the structural engineering field.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Competence: Competent in all key responsibilities of a Structural Designer.
