Position Overview:

You will create design solutions that fit the context, budget, and aesthetic needs of building projects. You should be adept at analyzing and grasping design intent to produce efficient and effective technical solutions. The role involves collaborating with other professional disciplines and coordinating the design through all project phases, leveraging their knowledge of building engineering systems, materials, codes, and construction technologies. There is an opportunity to step into leadership role as this position evolves!

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Designs elements of the overall building, integrating architectural design and complying with applicable codes and jurisdictional requirements.
  • Assesses engineering design needs and produces drawings to support construction projects.
  • Carries out engineering tasks such as calculations, code research, material and building systems research, layout of components, and calculation of program and building areas.
  • Evaluates site conditions, including zoning requirements and site constraints, and conducts site surveys and field reviews to accurately document existing and new construction conditions. Synthesizes, interprets, and coordinates technical information to draft engineering specifications for Project Manuals.
  • Reviews project products, services, and shop drawings to ensure compliance with project documents, relevant jurisdictional codes, and corporate quality controls.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in structural engineering of multiple building types.
  • Registered with a relevant professional engineering association
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
