Role Overview:

  • Position: Structural Engineer
  • Experience: 5-10 years in structural engineering design and project leadership
  • Location: West Des Moines, IA

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver design and construction administration services for a variety of projects, including education, civic, healthcare, and commercial sectors.
  • Lead the structural design efforts, make critical design decisions, and ensure the quality and completion of construction documents, specifications, and reports.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior engineers and designers.
  • Mentor and develop team members as you gain more experience.
  • Manage structural scope, schedule, and budget for projects.
  • Conduct site visits to provide technical assistance and resolve construction issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program
  • 5-10 years of experience in structural engineering, including design, modification, and evaluation of various structures
  • Professional Engineer licensure in Iowa or immediate eligibility for licensure in Iowa
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with steel, concrete, and masonry design; wood design experience is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
  • Effective time management and organizational skills, capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle, ability to climb ladders and work on elevated platforms, and wear personal protective equipment as required
  • Ability to pass drug and background screenings required for work at most client sites
