About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Staff Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Berkeley, CA. This role focuses on geotechnical engineering for public works, commercial, water infrastructure, and transportation projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and a passion for contributing to impactful projects that enhance community infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Expertise:

    • Conduct geotechnical investigations, including soil sampling, testing, and analysis.
    • Perform geotechnical analyses and design for foundations, retaining walls, slopes, and other structures.
    • Prepare technical reports, calculations, and drawings.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Project Involvement:

    • Assist in the planning and execution of geotechnical projects for public works, commercial, water infrastructure, and transportation sectors.
    • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to achieve project goals.
    • Monitor project progress and provide technical support as needed.
  • Field Work:

    • Conduct site visits and field investigations to collect data and assess site conditions.
    • Supervise drilling and testing activities.
    • Ensure safety protocols are followed during field operations.
  • Client Interaction:

    • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
    • Provide technical support and recommendations to clients.
    • Participate in meetings and presentations to discuss project details and progress.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in geotechnical engineering.
  • Strong technical skills in geotechnical analysis, design, and field investigations.
  • Familiarity with geotechnical software and tools.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
