Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Senior Town Planner with expertise in development to join their dynamic team.

Role Overview:
The Senior Town Planner will play a key role in leading and managing development projects, providing expert planning advice, and liaising with key stakeholders. This position requires a strong understanding of the Victorian planning framework, as well as the ability to navigate complex planning approvals and development applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead town planning projects with a focus on development approvals.

  • Provide strategic planning advice to clients, ensuring compliance with local and state planning regulations.

  • Prepare and assess planning permit applications, rezoning proposals, and development feasibilities.

  • Engage and negotiate with government authorities, stakeholders, and clients.

  • Conduct site analysis, planning assessments, and impact studies.

  • Mentor and support junior planners within the team.

  • Stay up to date with industry trends, policy changes, and best practices in urban development.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Urban Planning, Town Planning, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in town planning with a focus on development projects.

  • Strong knowledge of Victoria's planning policies, regulations, and development assessment processes.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills for stakeholder engagement.

  • Previous experience within a consultancy or government planning role is highly regarded.

  • Membership with the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA) is desirable.
