Position Overview:
Our client is looking for an experienced and motivated Regional Water/Wastewater Director to lead a seasoned water and wastewater section in the Baltimore-metro area. This role provides an exciting opportunity for career advancement, including the potential to expand the water/wastewater engineering practice regionally and support national growth.
In this leadership position, you will be responsible for overseeing project delivery, staff development, business development, and quality control processes. You will also coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, government agencies, and internal teams to ensure successful project outcomes and high client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the strategic growth of the water/wastewater section in collaboration with office managers and department heads.
Build and expand the market presence in the region through business development and marketing strategies.
Manage the department's financial budget, allocating resources appropriately.
Lead the development of proposals and participate in client interviews and presentations.
Provide leadership, mentorship, and career development opportunities for staff.
Oversee recruitment, hiring, and performance reviews for team members.
Ensure that the quality and performance of engineering deliverables and services meet the highest standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited program.
Professional Engineer (PE) License (Maryland or the ability to obtain through reciprocity).
A minimum of 20 years of experience in the water/wastewater engineering field.
Strong experience in project management and business development.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with local clients in the Baltimore area, including county and municipal governments.
Supervisory experience in a consulting firm or unit.
Active participation in industry organizations or committees.
Compensation:
Annual salary range: $190K - $240K, based on experience, education, and certifications.
Working Conditions:
This position is based in an office environment, with occasional standing and walking. The office provides a comfortable and well-lit workspace, with no hazardous or unpleasant conditions.
