About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Geologist to join our team in either El Segundo or Irvine, CA. The ideal candidate will have 5-15 years of experience and hold a Certified Engineering Geologist (C.E.G.) license, or at minimum, a Professional Geologist (P.G.) license. This role involves conducting geological investigations, providing technical expertise, and contributing to various projects across multiple sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Geological Investigations:
- Conduct detailed geological and geotechnical investigations, including field mapping, sampling, and testing.
- Analyze geological data to assess site conditions and identify potential hazards.
- Prepare comprehensive geological reports and documentation.
Technical Expertise:
- Provide expert geological input for engineering projects, including foundation design, slope stability, and seismic assessments.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to develop solutions based on geological findings.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
Project Management:
- Manage and oversee geological aspects of projects from inception to completion.
- Develop project plans, budgets, and schedules.
- Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions as needed.
Client Interaction:
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Provide technical support and recommendations to clients.
- Participate in meetings and presentations to discuss project details and progress.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Certified Engineering Geologist (C.E.G.) license preferred; minimum Professional Geologist (P.G.) license required.
- 5-15 years of experience in geological investigations and engineering geology.
- Strong technical skills in geological analysis, design, and project management.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in geological software and tools.
