Position Overview:
As the In-House EHS Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the company's EHS programs, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. You will work closely with senior management, project teams, and clients to develop, implement, and monitor effective EHS strategies. This role requires a proactive, hands-on approach to EHS management and a deep understanding of environmental laws and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS programs and initiatives across the organization.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Conduct risk assessments and safety audits, identifying potential hazards and recommending corrective actions.
Provide training and support to staff on EHS topics, ensuring a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
Maintain records related to environmental incidents, safety training, inspections, and audits.
Monitor and report on EHS performance metrics to senior management.
Assist with the preparation and submission of environmental permits and reports.
Liaise with regulatory agencies and contractors to ensure proper EHS compliance and standards are met.
Manage emergency response plans and ensure that safety protocols are effectively communicated to all employees.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of 12 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety management, preferably within an environmental consulting or engineering firm.
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage EHS programs.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CHMM, CSP, or equivalent) are preferred but not required.
