Position Title: Director of Sustainability
Locations: Baltimore, MD or Norfolk, VA
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with leadership to establish LVI Associates' reputation as a leader in sustainability.
- Coordinate the strategic direction and implementation of the company's sustainability strategy and programming.
- Lead and manage various sustainability engineering functions and operations.
- Align sustainability initiatives with industry standards, regulatory frameworks, and emerging technologies.
- Implement and oversee sustainability training for new hires and existing employees.
- Supervise and mentor staff in accordance with organizational policies, operating principles, and applicable laws.
- Stay updated on new trends, developments, technologies, materials, and best practices in MEP sustainability; apply this knowledge to improve processes and production efficiency. Recommend innovative solutions to enhance sustainability performance.
- Familiarity with 179D, tax credits/rebates, and other sustainable design funding.
- Familiarity with sustainable certification processes such as LEED checklists, Green Globes, WELL building, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S. in engineering or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in consulting engineering working on a wide range of projects.
- Sustainability certifications (LEED AP, WELL AP, and other applicable certifications).
- Experience with energy modeling using TRANE TRACE 3D preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
