Heavy Civil Superintendent

Salary: $140,000- $180,000 + Bonus(s)

They are a well-established and respected general contractor in the Seattle area, specializing in heavy civil construction projects. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a motivated and experienced Heavy Civil Superintendent to join their team.

Position Overview:
As a Heavy Civil Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of their construction projects. You will lead and coordinate the activities of subcontractors, field crews, and other project staff to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and project specifications.

  • Lead and supervise field personnel, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure efficient and timely project execution.

  • Review and interpret blueprints, project plans, and specifications to ensure all work is completed to the required standards.

  • Conduct daily site inspections to monitor progress, safety, and adherence to project timelines.

  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.

  • Maintain and update project schedules, budgets, and documentation.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve any on-site issues or delays.

  • Ensure proper maintenance of equipment and materials on the job site.

Experience Needed:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Heavy Civil Superintendent or in a similar role within the construction industry.

  • Proven experience in managing large-scale heavy civil construction projects, including roadway, infrastructure, utilities, and earthwork.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead diverse teams in a fast-paced construction environment.

  • Strong understanding of construction schedules, budgets, and contract management.

Qualifications Needed:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred).

  • OSHA 30-hour certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months).

  • Proficiency in construction management software and MS Office Suite.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

  • First Aid/CPR certification (preferred but not required).
