Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Substation Designer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and drafting electrical substations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for electrical substations, including single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality designs.
- Perform site visits to gather data and assess existing conditions.
- Utilize CAD software to create and modify design drawings.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Review and verify design documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate with other disciplines (civil, structural, mechanical) to ensure integrated design solutions.
- Provide technical support during construction and commissioning phases.
- Maintain project documentation and records.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Drafting, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in substation design or a similar role.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.).
- Strong understanding of electrical design principles and substation components.
- Knowledge of industry standards (IEEE, ANSI, NESC).
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
