Structural Engineer - Project Manager

Position Overview: Seeking for an experienced Structural Engineer to join their team. You will work independently under the guidance of the Engineer of Record for each project. Your role will involve managing the structural team in their engineering and drafting tasks, providing structural design, and coordinating project tasks with other disciplines like architecture and MEP. You will also oversee projects during the Construction Administration Phase, including reviewing shop drawings, RFIs, site visits, and OAC meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in coordination meetings with other disciplines and design review sessions with supervisors, clients, and owners.
- Attend work sessions with owner-client agencies to discuss project scope and structural design approaches.
- Oversee the design and documentation process to ensure construction documents are completed on time and within budget.
- Develop and maintain structural specifications, select construction procedures, determine materials and member sizes, and perform necessary calculations.
- Review shop drawings, RFIs, change proposal requests, and change orders, and incorporate changes into project documents.
- Communicate design and coordination details to project team members and prepare comprehensive engineering reports, memos, and email correspondence.
- Conduct site observations and prepare reports based on site visits during construction.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a focus on structural engineering (Master's degree preferred).
- Professional Engineering license (P.E.) in Florida.
- At least 10 years of progressive structural engineering experience.
- Three or more years of experience leading multi-discipline project teams preferred.
- Strong knowledge of state building codes and relevant design codes (ASCE, AISC, ACI, MSJC, NDS, etc.).
- Proficiency in structural engineering software and office tools (ETABS, SAFE, RISA, RAM, ENERCALC, Excel, Bluebeam, etc.).
- Experience in designing various structural materials (steel, concrete, masonry, wood).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
