A leading renewable developer and owner/operator is looking to bring on a Senior Transmission Planning Engineer to join the team! This position will support the Transmission & Interconnection group, working on renewable energy projects across the US, with the ability to work fully remote and/or the option to go into any office location across the US (Houston, TX; San Francisco, CA; Denver, CO; Tampa, FL; Boston, MA, & more!)
The Senior Transmission Planning Engineer will be responsible for:
- Performing transmission planning and generation interconnection studies (load flow, stability, steady state, dynamic, etc.)
- Using modeling software such as PSS/E, TARA, PowerWorld, or PSLF
- Asses the impact of new generation and load additions through applied knowledge of interconnection studies
- Communicating and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders and other entities
The Senior Transmission Planning Engineer should have the following qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 4-8+ years of relevant experience in Power System Studies or Transmission Planning/Interconnection
- Expertise in PSS/E, TARA, PSLF, PSCAD, EMTP, PowerWorld, etc.
- Experience working in one or more ISO/RTO (NYISO, ISO-NE, MISO, SPP, ERCOT, CAISO, or WECC)
