About the Company: A leading clean power company dedicated to transitioning businesses and households to clean, electric energy is looking to grow their team! The company develops, owns, and operates solar generation, energy storage, and charging infrastructure across the nation, managing over 1 gigawatt of solar assets in 25 states.
Position Overview: The Solar Designer will be a key member of the engineering team, responsible for the complete design and engineering of solar projects. This role reports to the Director of Engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct solar system size and production assessments using software like Helioscope or PVSyst.
- Prepare utility interconnection applications with initial design schematics and equipment specifications.
- Design full solar systems, including layouts, electrical diagrams, equipment selection, wiring details, and grounding details.
- Coordinate structural, racking, civil, and survey layers.
- Assist during construction with RFIs and equipment submittals.
- Review and update designs for existing assets, including repairs or repowering.
- Visit project sites as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience designing commercial and industrial solar arrays (1 MW to 10 MW).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and NEC electrical code.
- Experience with energy storage design is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
