We are currently seeking a skilled VDC Coordinator specializing in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems to join our dynamic team.
Position Overview:
The VDC Coordinator will play a crucial role in the successful execution of our MEP projects by leading the Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in coordinating 3D modeling and BIM processes for MEP systems. This role involves close collaboration with project teams to ensure that all MEP components are accurately represented, coordinated, and integrated into the overall project design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Model Coordination: Develop, manage, and coordinate 3D models for MEP systems using BIM software, ensuring accurate representation and integration with architectural and structural models.
- Clash Detection: Perform clash detection and work with project teams to resolve conflicts between MEP systems and other disciplines.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that VDC processes align with project schedules and requirements.
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation, including shop drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built models.
- Quality Control: Ensure all VDC outputs meet the company's quality standards and comply with client specifications.
- Process Management: Assist in the development and implementation of VDC workflows, standards, and best practices across MEP projects.
- Training & Support: Provide training and technical support to project teams on the use of BIM software and VDC methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in VDC/BIM coordination within the MEP space.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and other relevant BIM software. Familiarity with industry-specific tools like FabMEP is a plus.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of MEP systems, construction processes, and industry standards.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational abilities with the capability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in modeling and documentation.
