**Senior Electrical Engineer P.E. (Water) - Washington DC**
The Senior Electrical Engineer will perform field investigation, analysis, design, electrical construction oversight for water and wastewater treatment facilities, manufacturing plants, power plants and commercial building projects.
Job Summary:
* Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
o Develop electrical engineering designs for various types of projects including water/wastewater plants and pumping stations, airports/related airport facilities, and office and laboratory buildings.
o Design electrical power distribution and lighting in industrial, institutional, and commercial facilities.
o Design low and medium voltage switchgear and transformers.
o Perform power system studies (load flow, short circuit, protective coordination, arc flash analysis).
o Complete field investigations and prepare building electrical systems engineering reports.
o Perform construction administration services such as shop drawing and RFI review.
o Create cost estimates and proposals for projects.
o In addition to technical excellence, this individual is expected to effectively lead, manage, and design multiple projects simultaneously.
o Travel if/when required.
Minimum Requirements:
o BS in Electrical Engineering and 15+ years of experience
o P.E. Required
o Project Management experience
o Client Management experience
o Stable work history within the organization
o Detail oriented and experienced engineer
o Experience in construction administration/management and observation
o Ability and experience to satisfy clients' needs, budgets, and schedules
o Strong familiarity with industry codes and standards (NEC, NESC, IEEE, federal, state, and local building codes)
o General familiarity with a broad field of engineering and knowledge of work impact on, and coordination with, other disciplines
o Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications Include:
o Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
o Proficiency in ArcFlash studies software
o Proficiency in electrical issues coordination with, and assistance for, control systems engineers
Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical or Controls)
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: PE
Essential Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
o 15+ years of experience in the field or in a related area with at least five years of water/wastewater experience. Experience writing proposals including cost estimating required.
o Strong project management skills.
o Excellent client management experience.
o Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills.
o Ability to work as a team player and collaborate with internal team members and external clients.
o Ability to be a creative problem solver and to think out of the box.
o Capable of performing hands-on design work.
o Ability to create and read blueprints.
o Ability to achieve solutions to complex technical problems.
o Ability to lead a large-scale project and interface directly with the client.
o Experience leading, guiding, and training junior engineers.
o Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and manage multiple projects concurrently while meeting deadlines consistently.
o Ability to interface with clients professionally and appropriately.
o Ability to successfully function in a fast-paced cooperative team environment spanning across multiple offices.
