Lead AV Design Consultant - Practice Lead

Overview:
As the AV Design Consultant - Practice Lead, you will not only be responsible for leading AV design projects but also for spearheading the growth and development of the AV design practice within the company. This role is suited for a visionary leader with a deep technical expertise in audiovisual design and a passion for driving innovation and excellence within a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead AV Design Projects: Take charge of AV design projects from initial client consultation to final implementation, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Client Liaison and Needs Analysis: Work directly with clients to capture their AV needs and expectations, acting as the primary point of contact for all design-related discussions.
- Technical Design and Documentation: Develop comprehensive AV system designs, including schematics, drawings, and specifications using industry-standard software tools.
- Collaborative Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of junior designers and technicians, promoting a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and quality assurance in all design activities.
- Cross-functional Team Coordination: Work closely with sales, project management, and installation teams to ensure cohesive project execution and to resolve any design-related challenges efficiently.
- Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Stay at the forefront of AV technology trends to incorporate innovative solutions into designs and continuously improve design processes and standards.
- Site Surveys and Technical Assessments: Conduct thorough site surveys and technical assessments to inform design decisions and ensure compatibility with physical site conditions.
- Design Validation and Support: Provide ongoing support and technical oversight during the installation phase, validating that installations meet design specifications and client requirements.
- Stakeholder Presentations: Articulate design concepts and progress to stakeholders through clear, impactful presentations and regular communication.
- Industry Leadership: Act as a thought leader in the AV design field, contributing to industry discussions, writing articles or papers, and participating in conferences as a representative of the company.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Audio Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar).
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in AV system design, with a proven track record of leading design projects.
- Proficiency in AV design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, D-Tools).
- Deep understanding of audiovisual technologies, standards, and best practices.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of leading a team and managing client relationships effectively.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Willingness to travel to client sites as required.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, with experience in mentoring or managing a team preferred.
