Position Overview:
We are seeking a Land Development Project Engineer with a primary focus on production to join our team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with experience in civil design and site development who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The selected candidate will work closely with project managers, designers, and other engineering professionals to support the design, permitting, and execution of land development projects across Central Florida.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and oversee the production of site development plans, grading plans, utility layouts, stormwater management designs, and roadway designs.
Conduct engineering calculations, technical analyses, and feasibility studies.
Assist in the preparation of construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates.
Collaborate with project managers to ensure projects meet timelines and budget constraints.
Coordinate with local municipalities and regulatory agencies to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
Utilize CAD and civil engineering software (such as AutoCAD Civil 3D) to produce accurate and efficient designs.
Support senior engineers in reviewing plans, reports, and other technical documentation.
Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
2-5 years of experience in land development, site design, or civil engineering.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other relevant engineering software.
Strong understanding of grading, drainage, stormwater management, and utility design.
Knowledge of local codes, regulations, and permitting processes in Florida.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with high attention to detail.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred; PE licensure is a plus.
