Position: Senior Estimator - Heavy Civil

Salary: $100,000 - $150,000 + Bonus

Job Description:
As a Senior Estimator specializing in heavy civil projects, you will be instrumental in the pre-construction phase, responsible for accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for a variety of infrastructure projects. Your expertise in analyzing project specifications, conducting thorough site evaluations, and collaborating with subcontractors and suppliers will ensure that our bids are competitive and aligned with project requirements. You will work closely with project management and engineering teams to develop strategies that optimize project success and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize your in-depth knowledge of heavy civil construction methods, materials, and equipment to prepare detailed and precise cost estimates.
- Review project plans, drawings, and specifications to identify project scope, requirements, and potential challenges.
- Conduct site visits and assessments to gather essential data and assess project conditions.
- Solicit bids from subcontractors and suppliers, evaluate proposals, and negotiate pricing to achieve cost-effective solutions.
- Collaborate effectively with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify project expectations and ensure alignment throughout the estimating process.
- Present estimates, proposals, and supporting documentation to clients, demonstrating thorough analysis and understanding of project needs.
- Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and industry professionals to enhance competitiveness and project execution.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Estimator in heavy civil construction, with demonstrated proficiency in estimating large-scale projects.
- Experience with preparing bids for NCDOT and site civil construction projects is highly preferred
- Strong proficiency in estimating software (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid, B2W, Agtek, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex project requirements and specifications.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
