About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Flood Engineer to join our dynamic team in Sydney. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in flood modeling and a deep understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic principles. Proficiency in TUFLOW is essential. As a Senior Flood Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing flood management solutions to protect communities and enhance resilience against flooding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed flood modeling and analysis using TUFLOW software.
- Develop and implement flood risk management strategies and solutions.
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic assessments for various projects.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality flood engineering projects.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for stakeholders.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.
- Engage with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulations related to flood management.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- 5-10 years of experience in flood modeling and engineering.
- Expertise in TUFLOW is mandatory.
- Strong understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling principles.
- Proficient in using other flood modeling software such as HEC-RAS, MIKE FLOOD, or similar.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with GIS and other relevant software is an advantage.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification or equivalent is preferred.
