Job Description:
As an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction projects. You will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to develop detailed pricing and budgeting to ensure the financial feasibility of each project.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to obtain pricing and ensure competitive bids.
- Evaluate project scope, timelines, and potential risks to develop comprehensive cost breakdowns.
- Assist in value engineering efforts to optimize costs while maintaining quality and project integrity.
- Maintain an up-to-date database of labor, material, and equipment costs.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client discussions to gather critical project information.
- Prepare and present cost estimates and proposals to senior management.
- Stay informed about market trends, cost fluctuations, and industry best practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- 4+ years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in residential or commercial projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction costs, materials, and methods.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, Timberline) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple estimates simultaneously.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills for coordinating with vendors, clients, and internal teams.
