Role Overview

You'll be part of a collaborative team dedicated to making life better. This position requires extensive knowledge in heavy industrial structural design and construction.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Provide technical design leadership and exercise independent judgment with minimal direction.
- Lead conceptual design and final engineering efforts.
- Resolve technical design conflicts efficiently.
- Manage structural design for multiple projects.
- Develop engineering drawings and documents independently.
- Generate solutions to complex technical problems.
- Perform design calculations and use computer-aided design tools.
- Participate in project meetings and lead the structural team.
- Work in and sometimes lead teams on large, multi-discipline projects.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment.
- Make and meet commitments consistently.
- Perform field work and observe construction, including climbing stairs and ladders, and extensive walking.
- Monitor project budgets and schedules.
- Mentor junior engineers.
- Travel lightly, mostly within the Kentucky/Tennessee/Illinois/Missouri region.
- Develop proposals, including gathering information, conducting studies, and performing calculations.
- Generate material take-offs and construction estimates.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, preferred
- Possess or be on track to obtain a Professional Engineer license in Kentucky within 6 months
- 4-7 years of relevant experience in a high-seismic area is required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
- Team player with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.)
- Ability to collaborate effectively with other engineers and designers
- Capability to work on job sites to gather information, with occasional exposure to hazardous equipment and machinery
- Extensive knowledge of steel and concrete structures, foundation design, timber design, masonry design, architectural codes, site design, and permitting
- Proficiency with structural design software such as Autodesk Revit, Risa 3D, Profis, Mathcad, AutoCAD, Advanced Steel, SAP2000, or STAAD.Pro
