Role Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Director to spearhead our growth initiatives in the solar industry. As the Business Development Director, you will be responsible for driving sales and expanding our market presence, leveraging your expertise in solar equipment and your established network of industry contacts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve sales targets and revenue goals in the solar industry.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including partnerships, alliances, and distributorship agreements, to expand our customer base and market reach.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the solar industry, including solar developers, EPC contractors, utilities, and government agencies.
- Lead the sales process from lead generation to deal closure, managing negotiations, proposals, and contract agreements effectively.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, marketing, and customer support, to align business development efforts with company objectives and customer needs.
- Stay updated with market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments in the solar industry, providing insights and recommendations to drive business growth.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows, showcasing our products and services and networking with potential clients and partners.
- Mentor and develop a high-performing sales team, providing guidance, support, and training to maximize individual and team performance.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field. MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in business development, sales, or related roles in the solar industry, with a proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
- Deep understanding of solar equipment, including inverters, panels, mounting systems, and related technologies, with the ability to articulate technical specifications and value propositions to customers.
- Strong network of contacts and relationships in the solar industry, including solar developers, EPC contractors, distributors, and other key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to identify market opportunities, develop business strategies, and execute sales plans effectively.
- Hunter mentality with a relentless drive to pursue and close deals, coupled with excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Strategic thinker with a customer-centric approach, able to anticipate market trends and customer needs to drive business success.
