Role
The company is seeking a well-rounded Building Condition Assessment Specialist to join its team. This role is ideal for someone who can hit the ground running with PCAs and is interested in developing skills in restoration. The specialist will conduct building assessments, write detailed reports, and have the opportunity to work on a wide range of commercial projects, including high-rise residential apartments and industrial buildings.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed building condition assessments for commercial properties.
- Identify and document structural, mechanical, electrical, and building envelope deficiencies.
- Prepare comprehensive reports outlining findings, recommendations, and cost estimates for repairs and maintenance.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Stay updated with industry standards, codes, and best practices.
- Participate in training and educational programs to enhance expertise and knowledge.
- Opportunity to transition into restoration work after the first year.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in building science consulting and Building Condition Assessments (BCAs), including mechanical and electrical components.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, construction methods, and materials.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in report writing and documentation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and complete BCAs to a high standard.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation or eligibility is an asset.
