The Opportunity
Our client, a leading employee-owned engineering firm, is seeking a Project Engineering Manager to lead the execution of multiple water and wastewater projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile municipal projects, including advanced treatment facilities, underground conveyance, and carbon-neutral solutions.
In this position, you will:
- Lead a multi-discipline team of engineers and technicians.
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, and client communication.
- Mentor and develop engineering staff.
- Drive innovative solutions for water and wastewater infrastructure.
This role follows a hybrid work schedule (3 days in office, 2 days remote) based in Kansas City.

Key Responsibilities
Project Execution
- Lead the preparation of complex engineering deliverables.
- Manage data, conduct technical calculations, and recommend equipment/materials.
- Ensure project scope, budget, and quality requirements are met across multiple disciplines.
Technical Leadership
- Provide guidance on multi-discipline wastewater treatment and infrastructure projects.
- Offer technical expertise to ensure project success.
Management Responsibilities
- Review engineering work and mentor team members.
- Participate in hiring and performance management.
Qualifications
Preferred:
- PE license.
- Experience in engineering consulting.
- Background in wastewater treatment plant upgrades and expansion projects.
Minimum:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- 8+ years of related experience.
- Ability to pass pre-employment onboarding, including background checks and drug screening.
Work Environment
- Hybrid schedule (3 days in office, 2 days remote).
