Job Description
As a Senior Environmental Engineer, you will support municipal water/wastewater projects in Kansas City and the surrounding region.
In this role, you will collaborate with senior subject matter experts and project managers to develop and execute designs for water and wastewater projects.
- Design water and wastewater treatment facilities, water and sewer systems, pipelines, pump stations, remediation sites, solid waste facilities, and more.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations for all designs.
- Conduct site reviews and studies to align designs with location specifications.
- Perform water quality analyses and modeling.
- Develop technical white papers and design documentation.
- Submit technical papers and designs for publication in industry journals.
- Assist in preparing proposals in response to RFPs and meet with clients to assess current and future design needs.
- Attend industry conferences to enhance visibility and represent the firm's expertise.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering (or related field).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally based on project needs.
- Additional directly related experience may be considered in place of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading technical discussions with clients.
- Knowledge of municipal project design, bidding, and construction services.
Skills & Abilities
- Proficiency in CAD (3D & 4D) and engineering design principles.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft business software (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of federal, state, and local regulations.
