Key Responsibilities
- Act as the technical lead for electrical engineering projects. Oversee the quality review process of work products developed by others, and lead a team of electrical designers and engineers, coordinating the work of other discipline engineers into the final design deliverables.
- Mentor and develop the technical skills of team members.
- Serve as the client interface for the electrical discipline and lead other disciplines during a design program. Manage small to mid-scale electrical projects.
- This includes interacting with clients at the proposal stage, developing letter proposals and fee estimates, preparing and delivering presentations to clients, and representing the company throughout the project duration.
- Expand the power systems practice by promoting the company's capabilities to clients and building relationships within the marketplace. Participate in relevant professional affiliations to stay current with emerging technologies and business practices.
- Support construction projects, including cost estimating, construction phasing/scheduling, site inspections, punch list development, and shop drawing review.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of industry codes and standards, and develop code analysis reports. Preferred code knowledge includes NFPA, NESC, ANSI/IEEE Standards, energy code, and building code. Familiarity with utility standards is preferred.
- Design electrical power distribution (medium/low voltage) systems, grounding systems, lighting systems, fire alarm systems, communication systems, etc., with a focus on the industrial market segment.
- Prepare technical reports to define projects and provide clients with technical direction.
- Prepare and review power systems analysis reports, including short-circuit, load flow, and protective device coordination studies.
Key Qualifications
- BSEE, committed to lifelong learning to maintain knowledge of contemporary issues.
- 12+ years of relevant work experience.
- PE license required.
- 2+ years of experience leading a team of design professionals in a consulting engineering environment.
