Senior Director of Integrated Solutions

Overview of Role

We are looking for a leader with commercial, technical, and entrepreneurial background for our Integrated Solutions group. The Integrated Solutions group works on our most transformative applications, where our breakthrough membrane products can unlock water reuse, waste-to-revenue, and other effluent management solutions in streams that have been historically impossible to manage through direct filtration.

The Senior Director of Integrated Solutions will be accountable for the Integrated Solutions group's success and will oversee the competitive positioning, sales implementation, engineering, project delivery, and customer success functions needed to deliver world-class wastewater treatment and process separations projects. Experience designing and delivering filtration solutions in high-strength industrial/agricultural wastewaters or food process streams is highly recommended.

Above all else, this role will serve as a key member of the leadership team and will require ever-present leadership, candor, and determination to help our organization solve some of the most urgent and essential resource management challenges of our time.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with Sales & Marketing teams to identify promising applications, projects, and customers within the company's priority market segments.
  • Apply urgency and a missionary mentality for pipeline growth.
  • Uphold a rigorous qualification process to ensure that sales and technical resources are invested in the highest quality projects and staged appropriately.
  • Oversee the sales and applications engineering functions as projects work through technical discovery, solution generation, and field validation.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, partners, and industry influencers, often serving as the senior relationship counterparty for key accounts in multi-level account management plans.
  • Ensure that solutions are designed with the highest standards of process engineering rigor and that proposal generation aligns with sales commitments, field performance, and process design and project delivery requirements.
  • Partner with product management to build out standard building blocks that are engineered to maximize our value proposition and that can be easily applied to varying applications.
  • Ensure disciplined project management, managing both internal logistics and third-party vendors, that results in on-time and on-budget equipment deliveries that meet the customer's performance expectations.
  • Manage field engineering and field service deployments, ensuring successful pilot project completion and commercial project commissioning, training, and support.

Critical Success Factors

  • Understand our strategy and take initiative in achieving business goals.
  • Ability to drive decisions and implement plans across all stakeholders.
  • Ability to coach and provide guidance to sales engineering, applications engineering, project delivery, and field service teams.
  • Ability to identify needs, resourcing, or skills gaps and to propose solutions.
  • A passion for excellence and a proven ability to succeed.
  • Clear and concise communication skills that can work at all levels of an organization, as well as strong interpersonal skills, to drive authentic and value-added relationships with customers and partners in the marketplace.
  • A thorough knowledge of membrane technologies and process engineering approaches
  • A strong intuition for the techno-economic tradeoffs and competitive differentiation between traditional physical, biological, and chemical water and wastewater treatment solutions.
  • A passion for customer success, with a veteran understanding of the caliber of engineering and field service required to turn customers into references.

Qualifications

  • A university degree in an engineering or relevant scientific discipline or a university degree in a business discipline if the candidate has extensive previous industry work experience.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in a commercial or applications engineering role within the water, wastewater, or process separations sector. Experience with membrane systems or filtration processes is preferred.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office suite and leading CRM tools, like Salesforce or HubSpot.
