Project Architect - Existing Buildings

The Role:
The project architect will work with project management teams to manage and aid in production of the architect aspects of various multi-disciplinary projects. Reviewing documents, designing solutions for existing buildings & site investigations & inspections will feature.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead architectural or multi-discipline projects, coordinating with design teams, consultants, clients, contractors, and agencies.
- Prepare project documentation for client approvals and permits.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager on project progress and staffing needs.
- Implement architectural procedures and techniques, including repair, restoration, and adaptive reuse.
- Supervise project teams for efficient and coordinated work.
- Mentor junior team members with regular feedback.
- Ensure project deliverables meet company standards.
- Perform construction administration tasks, ensuring contractor compliance with drawings and specifications.
- Review RFIs, shop drawings, and submittals; issue instructions or addenda.
- Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress & assess existing sites on addition, restoration or renovation projects.
- Prepare field reports and resolve conflicts or deviations.
- Review change order requests and assist in value engineering.
- Perform construction walkthroughs and verify close-out documentation.
Qualifications:
- Degree in architecture (Master's preferred)
- 8+ years' experience in the field of architecture.
- Professional Architectural Licensure in NYS
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam
- Excellent communication skills
- Team & Project management experience
