Position Overview:

Are you ready to advance your HVAC engineering career? This opportunity is for an experienced and dynamic HVAC Project Leader to join a collaborative engineering team. In this role, you will take on complex, non-routine assignments, work closely with senior leaders to shape design concepts, and gradually expand into project management responsibilities, all while focusing on technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Senior Project Leaders on schematic designs, including mechanical and electrical room planning.

  • Develop designs into comprehensive construction documents.

  • Mentor and guide Entry Level and Senior Designers, ensuring quality and consistency.

  • Prepare design specifications and contribute to firm-wide initiatives such as BIM and Standards development.

  • Lead trade coordination efforts and execute advanced design tasks.

  • Attend construction meetings, produce observation reports, and conduct field inspections.

  • Coordinate project clearances with other design disciplines.

  • Perform site surveys, troubleshoot system issues, and conduct code research.

  • Prepare addendums, change orders, and additional service requests.

  • Provide value engineering and participate in QA/QC for trades.

  • Support marketing efforts by participating in outreach and thought leadership activities.

  • Collaborate with teams across locations and time zones to meet project objectives.

  • Act as the responsible agent on commissioning and construction management projects.

  • Continuously seek ways to innovate and improve firm operations.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of design experience in an MEP/Consulting firm.

  • 10+ years of overall professional experience.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required.

  • FE certification required; LEED accreditation and/or PE license preferred.

  • Proficient with design software and familiar with CAD/BIM operations.

  • Solid knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Strong understanding of applicable building codes and standards.

  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
