Key Responsibilities:
- Design and manage the construction and operation of landfill facilities.
- Conduct facility studies and planning for solid waste management.
- Perform grading and stormwater modeling to ensure effective system design and engineering.
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and develop strategies to mitigate negative effects.
- Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
- Develop and implement comprehensive waste management plans and recycling initiatives.
- Monitor and manage landfill gas and leachate collection systems.
- Perform site inspections and audits to ensure efficiency and safety.
- Prepare technical reports, permits, and necessary documentation.
- Collaborate with engineers, environmental scientists, and regulatory bodies.
- Provide technical support and guidance to project teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Hydrogeology, or a related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Geologist (PG) license is a plus.
- At least 5 years of experience in solid waste management and landfill design.
- In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance standards.
- Proficiency in engineering design software and tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
