Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer with 4-8 years of experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and overseeing electrical systems for a variety of building projects. This role requires technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver efficient and reliable electrical solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, security, and low-voltage systems, for commercial, retail, hospitality, government, healthcare, and education facilities.
- Perform electrical load calculations, short circuit analysis, and coordination studies.
- Prepare electrical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications using AutoCAD, Revit, and other design tools.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards, including NEC, NFPA, IBC, and local energy codes.
- Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other disciplines to ensure integrated building system designs.
- Conduct site visits, field inspections, and construction administration tasks to ensure project adherence to design specifications.
- Assist in cost estimation, equipment selection, and value engineering processes.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and energy-efficient solutions, including renewable energy, smart building systems, and LEED certification requirements.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders to address design challenges and project goals.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 4-8 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in building systems design.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or EIT with a plan to obtain PE is preferred.
- Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, SKM PowerTools, ETAP, or similar tools.
- Strong knowledge of national and local electrical codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, IBC, IECC, etc.).
- Experience with lighting design and controls, power distribution, and emergency systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.
- Experience with LEED certification and sustainable design practices is a plus.
