Job Summary: Our client, a leading company in the building automation industry, is seeking a skilled and motivated Building Automation Technician to join their team in Richmond, Virginia. The ideal candidate will have experience working with various Direct Digital Controls (DDCs) such as Metasys and Tridium. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of building automation systems to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and program building automation systems (BAS) including Metasys and Tridium DDCs.
- Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of BAS to ensure systems are operating efficiently and effectively.
- Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to design and implement control strategies for HVAC, lighting, and other building systems.
- Conduct system diagnostics and provide technical support to resolve issues promptly.
- Monitor system performance and make adjustments to improve energy efficiency and occupant comfort.
- Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, changes, and maintenance activities.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in building automation.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with building automation systems, specifically Metasys and Tridium.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, electrical systems, and control strategies.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills to interact with clients and team members effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in building automation systems or related fields.
- Experience with other DDC systems and protocols.
- Knowledge of energy management practices and sustainability initiatives.
