Location: Owings Mills
This role involves designing and managing roadway projects to ensure safe and efficient transportation systems. The salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop roadway plans and specifications.
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies.
- Prepare project estimates and budgets.
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Perform traffic analysis and develop solutions to improve traffic flow.
- Oversee construction activities and provide technical support.
- Prepare and review engineering reports and documentation.
- Utilize engineering software for design and analysis.
- Participate in public meetings and presentations as needed.
- Set horizontal/vertical alignments, prepare roadway, MOT, and signing/marking plans.
- Coordinate with drainage/SWM, structures, surveys, and utility sections.
- Prepare cost estimates and specifications.
- Coordinate with clients.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) required; Master's degree (MSCE) a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in roadway design and engineering.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required; Maryland Registered Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
- Proficiency in MicroStation v8i and InRoads v8i preferred.
- Familiarity with traffic software such as AGi32, Synchro/SimTraffic, Sidra, and VISSIM is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of roadway design standards and regulations.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
