Forensic Accounting Manager
Our client is looking for a highly motivated individual to join their Chicago office as a Manager. This role involves providing a variety of services, including litigation support, complex investigations, fraud and forensic accounting, M&A advisory, insurance claims, and contract compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reviewing documents, conducting research, analyzing data, performing financial analysis, valuation, client communications, report writing, and preparing for expert witness testimony.
- Planning, executing, directing, and completing projects.
- Conducting data-intensive financial analysis, strategic analysis, due diligence, valuation analysis, damage calculations, forensic accounting procedures, litigation support, risk assessments, internal control testing, and industry research.
- Preparing questions for discovery and deposition, reviewing and refuting expert witness testimony, and preparing court exhibits.
- Leading forensic accounting assignments to investigate fraud and other irregularities.
- Developing and testing compliance programs.
- Researching regulatory requirements, including accounting and auditing standards.
- Communicating with counsel and clients to manage case progress, schedule meetings, and conduct interviews.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with counsel and clients.
- Reviewing audit work papers for compliance with professional standards.
- Assisting with litigation discovery and document requests.
- Supporting business development efforts, including preparing presentations and proposals.
- Mentoring, coaching, and training staff.
Qualifications:
- Detail-oriented and analytical with expertise in financial analysis and modeling.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to understand and translate complex issues clearly.
- Problem-solving, creative thinking, and intellectual curiosity.
- Strong work ethic and responsiveness.
- Understanding of business concepts, strategy, and compliance frameworks.
- Strong technical skills and proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to learn new software programs as necessary.
- Team-oriented and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated with a proven ability to manage staff on multiple projects.
- Passion for developing and retaining talent.
- Some travel may be required.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
- 4 to 6 years of relevant experience.
- CPA, CFE, CFF, CFA, ABV, or similar credential is a plus.
