Job Description:
This company is a leading general contractor based in Oregon, specializing in large-scale civil construction projects. They are currently seeking an experienced Civil Superintendent to join their team. This position requires an individual who is highly organized, has a strong background in civil construction, and is capable of managing the daily operations on a variety of projects.
As a Civil Superintendent, you will oversee the construction site, manage field operations, and ensure that projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. You will be responsible for coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and all site personnel, and ensuring the highest quality standards are maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage all aspects of civil construction projects, including site work, grading, paving, utilities, and other civil infrastructure.
Coordinate daily operations on construction sites, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
Manage subcontractors and labor teams, ensuring they meet project specifications and safety requirements.
Review plans and specifications to ensure proper execution and compliance with local codes and regulations.
Maintain constant communication with project managers, clients, and stakeholders to report on progress and address any issues.
Perform site inspections to ensure safety protocols are followed and resolve any on-site issues.
Oversee materials management, ensuring timely delivery and proper storage of construction materials.
Prepare daily reports and maintain accurate project documentation.
Experience Needed:
At least 5 years of experience as a Civil Superintendent in the construction industry, with a focus on civil and infrastructure projects.
Proven experience managing large-scale civil projects, such as roads, bridges, utilities, pipelines, and site development.
Experience working with subcontractors and construction crews, with strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
Strong understanding of construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Expertise in safety regulations and OSHA standards.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a keen eye for detail.
Qualifications Needed:
High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field is preferred).
OSHA 30-hour certification (or equivalent safety training).
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Proficiency with construction management software and MS Office Suite.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
