Project Developer
A growing and well-capitalized clean energy company is seeking a Project Developer to support its expanding pipeline of distributed-generation solar and energy storage projects. This role offers the opportunity to lead projects from origination through NTP while working with a mission-driven, collaborative team operating across key U.S. markets.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings hands-on experience developing renewable energy projects from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead project development efforts from site identification through permitting and interconnection.
Manage landowner outreach and secure site control agreements.
Oversee permitting processes and maintain relationships with regulatory authorities and local stakeholders.
Support interconnection strategy and coordinate with utility teams and consultants.
Drive project timelines and budgets to meet critical milestones.
Collaborate with internal teams across engineering, finance, and construction.
Conduct due diligence for new project opportunities and acquisitions.
Represent the company at public meetings, with landowners, and in community engagement efforts.
Qualifications:
5+ years of renewable energy project development experience, ideally with distributed solar or storage.
Familiarity with land acquisition, permitting, and interconnection processes.
Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to manage multiple projects at once.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Bachelor's degree in a related field (environmental studies, engineering, business, etc.).
Proficiency in financial modeling and understanding of project economics is a plus.
Willingness to travel occasionally for site visits and stakeholder meetings.
