Position Summary
The Electrical Engineer plays a key role in the success of the organization, working on a diverse range of projects across hyperscale, institutional, and corporate data centers. This position requires a combination of technical expertise and project management skills, including pre-sales support, strategic facility planning, design coordination, and customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site assessments to evaluate existing conditions and customer requirements, using findings to develop project strategies and design solutions.
- Support pre-sales efforts by preparing proposals and presentations for clients and partners.
- Design electrical power systems for mission-critical facilities, including:
- Power distribution from onsite generation (e.g., natural gas-powered facilities).
- One-line diagrams for site, building, and campus-level data center deployments.
- Electrical systems for data centers, including emergency generators, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), lighting, AC/DC power systems, and grounding.
- Perform power load calculations and capacity planning.
- Specify electrical equipment, such as transformers, UPS, switchgear, distribution panels, automatic transfer switches, and emergency generators.
- Prepare construction documents and specifications.
- Collaborate with other disciplines, including architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, fire protection, and telecommunications.
- Ensure project success through proactive communication and documentation.
- Develop detailed scopes of work-both written and diagrammatic-for subcontractors.
- Identify and address potential project issues proactively and resolve complex challenges independently.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or relevant work experience.
- Professional Engineering (PE) licensure preferred.
- Experience designing electrical systems for data centers, including UPS, generators, and critical power distribution.
- Knowledge of mission-critical electrical and mechanical systems.
- Experience working in a remote or virtual environment.
- Fluency in English with strong communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong desire for continuous learning and professional growth.
- Experience with construction and drafting technologies such as AutoCAD and Revit preferred.
Work Environment & Travel
This is a remote position with occasional travel to project sites.
