BMS Engineer

Job Purpose:

Design and manage Building Automation System (BAS) solutions by:

  • Reviewing project plans and customer requirements.
  • Creating design packages (Sequence of Operations, Wiring Diagrams, Schematics, Bill of Materials, Schedules) using CAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Programming software databases to meet system needs.
  • Providing technical support to field teams.
  • Ensuring system operability during installation.

Entry-Level Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of relevant experience can offset the degree requirement
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Team player with a positive attitude.

Advanced Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Computer Science preferred.
  • 3+ years of BAS design/programming experience with systems like Distech, Alerton, Delta, Tridium can offset the degree requirement.
  • Experience with programming languages and BAS programming (Function Block, Ladder, text-based).
  • Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, Solidworks).
  • Ability to interpret Mechanical/Electrical plans and specifications.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently or in a team.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and handling/use of hands.
  • Occasional bending, pushing/pulling up to 12 lbs., lifting/carrying up to 10 lbs., reaching outward and above shoulder, squatting/kneeling.
  • Rare lifting/carrying of 11-20 lbs.
