Technical Manager - Civil Engineering (Water) | St. Louis, MO
Our client is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to oversee outside-the-fence water infrastructure projects, including pipelines, hydraulic modeling, distribution, and collection systems. This role is ideal for a highly skilled civil engineer looking to take on a leadership position while applying technical expertise in the design and execution of municipal water and wastewater projects.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical execution of water and wastewater projects, with a focus on piping, distribution, collection, and hydraulic modeling.
- Provide technical oversight on preliminary and detailed designs, including cost estimating, permitting, and engineering reports.
- Ensure project quality, adherence to industry standards, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including project managers, engineers, drafters, and technicians, to drive efficient project delivery.
- Perform quality control (QA/QC) reviews and mentor staff to enhance technical excellence.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory updates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (Master's preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Missouri (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
- 10+ years of experience in water/wastewater civil engineering, with a strong focus on outside-the-fence infrastructure, including pipelines, distribution, collection, and hydraulic modeling.
- Expertise in hydraulic modeling, stormwater management, and pipeline design.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to develop innovative engineering solutions.
- Experience working with municipal clients, regulatory agencies, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for team collaboration and project execution.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- Active involvement in professional organizations (e.g., ASCE, AWWA, WEF).
- Experience presenting technical papers or serving on industry committees.
