Position Summary
Our firm is seeking a highly motivated individual in the Dallas, TX area, who is eager to grow the water and wastewater engineering sections in a collaborative and progressive workplace. This position offers excellent potential for career advancement, including helping to develop the water/wastewater engineering practice locally and supporting national growth into other regions. The candidate will be responsible for working closely with existing section leadership to assist with project delivery, staff development, quality control processes, and business development efforts. The individual will also coordinate with clients, contractors, external consultants, government agencies, and internal staff.
In addition to strong technical and project management skills, the successful candidate will have a keen interest in understanding the business side of the practice, including business development, client management, financial performance, staff development, and overseeing the quality of our products and services.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with office leaders and section heads to coordinate strategic growth plans.
- Establish and grow market presence in the region through marketing and business development efforts.
- Manage the financial budget for the regional practice and allocate resources accordingly.
- Lead and contribute to the preparation of proposals and client interviews.
- Serve as a technical resource for project managers and technical staff.
- Establish staffing needs for the practice on a regional level.
- Interview and make recommendations for hiring staff for the practice.
- Lead and manage team members by providing leadership and continuous performance management, including setting expectations, goals, feedback, one-on-one meetings, and coaching to support the growth and development of the team.

Required Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited program.
- Professional Engineer License (Texas or ability to obtain through reciprocity).
- 15+ years of experience in the relevant engineering discipline.
- Project management and business development experience.
- Experience working with local government clients at the city, county, and municipal levels.
Preferred Qualifications
- Supervisory experience within a consulting business or unit.
- Demonstrated industry involvement and significant participation in relevant professional activities.
Working Conditions
- Work is primarily performed within a general office environment, with flexibility for working from home. The position is based in Dallas, TX, but may involve occasional travel to other office locations or project sites. The work environment is generally sedentary, but may occasionally require standing or walking. Lighting and temperature are comfortable, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions within the office environment.
